This book is for everyone but especially those who have lost a loved one.
I asked myself," why am I sitting at my computer typing this book?", and my answer is because I know I cannot go on feeling like this for ever and it would be nice to be able to share my story with you.
I believe you will find my book very moving and emotional. I can tell you that I am your average lady in every way; juggling a home, a family and a job, and this is what makes my story more terrifying; that my world could come crashing down and be destroyed so suddenly and frighteningly. It really has opened my eyes to how vulnerable we all are to being physically or emotionally hurt from life changing circumstances beyond our control.
The continuing theme throughout this book is of life, love and loss, of death and new life. Although this book is at times, VERY difficult to read, this is only because my story is so painful and I hope I tell it movingly and honestly. I hope by reading this book you will gain from putting everyday problems into perspective and that it stops you taking life for granted.
The hope is of course that you will be unable to put this book down. However, on the occasions when you do put it down, I hope that you will be at least thinking about it.
Please don’t be put off by thinking this is just a painful and upsetting account of bereavement. Yes there are a lot of difficult pages to turn, I give an in-depth account of the intensity of my grief, but it’s also a book of strength, bravery and courage. I did get myself in a terrible state for a long time, but in the end, perhaps to your surprise, I managed to pick myself up and start living again. I have spent the past few years rebuilding my life since my dreadful loss. My hope is that it will be truly wonderful for you to read of my life slowly being rebuilt.
My hope is that my story, I would like to think, gives some solace to everyone who’s ever lost someone close and will stay with you for a long, long time. Whilst reading it – I can guarantee you’ll be in floods of tears, so please have a box of tissues available for immediate use.
Finally, the aim is to leave you appreciative of everything and everyone you have around you.
